Getting started

What is Duelo Folclórico?

It is a Brazilian collectible card game played in the browser, where 481 legends of Brazilian, Greek, Norse, Japanese and Egyptian folklore duel in turns. You are a Summoner: you spend Faith to call legends onto the field and win by reducing your opponent's Memory to zero.

Is Duelo Folclórico free?

Yes. Creating an account, building decks, duelling, climbing the ranked ladder and completing missions cost nothing — you get a starter deck when you pick your pantheon. The shop is optional.

Do I need to download or install anything?

No. The game runs directly in your browser, on a phone or a computer. Open the site and sign in.

Can I play on mobile?

Yes. The interface was designed for the phone screen first, and the whole duel works by touch, with no app to install.

Do I need card game experience to start?

No. There is a guided tutorial that teaches the duel step by step using the cards of whichever pantheon you choose, and a full in-game guide that pays Eternal Flames when you finish it.

What languages is the game in?

Portuguese and English. The interface, the rules and all 481 cards — name and legend — exist in both, and the language switches inside the game.

Is there a minimum age?

Sign-up asks for a date of birth. Accounts under 18 have restricted features, in particular purchases with real money, and the forum is restricted to users over 18.

The duel

How does a duel work?

Two Summoners alternate turns. You spend Faith to summon creatures and cast spells, attack with the creatures on the field, and try to reduce your opponent's Memory, which starts at 30, to zero.

How long does a match take?

A few minutes. Each turn has 60 seconds, and letting 3 turns pass without playing loses the match.

How many cards are in a deck?

Exactly 30, with at most 2 copies of the same card — and only 1 copy if it is Primordial. A deck has one main pantheon and at most one secondary, whose cards cost +1 Faith.

What is Faith?

It is the resource that pays for every summon. It starts at 1, rises by one each turn up to a cap of 10, and refills completely on each of your turns — it does not carry over.

What is Memory?

It is what replaces health: it starts at 30 and only goes down. In folklore an entity exists because somebody remembers it, so what you attack is the remembering. At zero, the match ends.

What is the Sun and Moon cycle?

A day-and-night cycle running over the duel: 6 turns per round, 3 of Solar phase and 3 of Lunar phase, starting in Solar. Solar creatures grow stronger by day and Lunar ones by night.

What is the pantheon's Favour?

A power belonging to each folklore, usable once per turn. Each pantheon offers two and the deck picks one; they cost 1 or 2 Faith depending on which. It is the card you always hold.

What happens if my deck runs out?

Fatigue sets in: instead of drawing, you lose Memory, and the toll grows with every attempt — 1, then 2, then 3. A very long match ends in fatigue, not on the field.

How many creatures fit on the field?

Up to 7 per side. A hand holds 10 cards, and drawing with a full hand burns the drawn card, sending it straight to the graveyard.

The cards

How many cards does the game have?

There are 481 illustrated cards, about 96 for each of the five folklores. Each one carries the original legend that inspired it, written on the card itself.

Which folklores are in the game?

There are five: Brazilian, Greek, Norse, Japanese and Egyptian. Each pantheon has its own Favour, its characteristic keywords and a way of playing of its own.

How do I get new cards?

Through the Portal, spending Eternal Flames, which you earn by playing — missions, daily login, wins, the tutorial and the guide. You can also manifest a specific card at the Sanctuary.

What are the rarity odds in the Portal?

Tale 60%, Legend 27%, Myth 10%, Divinity 2.5% and Primordial 0.5%. The rates are the same for everyone and are published here on purpose.

Is a Primordial card guaranteed at some point?

Yes. The Primordial chance starts climbing from the 75.th summon without one, and on the 90.th it is guaranteed. The count is yours and does not reset between sessions.

Can I get a specific card instead of relying on luck?

Yes, at the Sanctuary: you manifest whichever card you want by paying Faith and Offerings. Faith comes from duplicate cards and from dissolving what you do not use; Offerings come from missions and matches. Slower than the Portal, but it is your choice and not a draw.

What happens when I pull a duplicate?

It becomes Faith, in an amount matching its rarity — and Faith is exactly what the Sanctuary charges to manifest the card you want. A duplicate is not wasted.

Playing with other people

Who do I play against?

Against other players through the queue, which gives absolute priority to a human opponent and avoids repeating your last few. When nobody is available in your range, the match is against a ghost — a profile run by the game, with a deck and a style of its own.

How does ranked work?

A win raises Renown and a loss lowers it, but never below the floor of the highest league you have reached. There are 6 leagues, from Tale League to The Pantheon, and the season closes with rewards.

Can I play against a specific friend?

Yes, through Direct Challenge: you invite a friend or send a link good for 10 minutes. It is a friendly duel — it touches neither Renown nor rewards.

Is there anywhere to talk to other players?

There is the Bonfire, the game's forum, moderated and restricted to users over 18. You can quote a card, react and reply, and every message shows the writer's pantheon.

How much do I earn per match?

A win pays 10 Eternal Flames and 15 Offerings. Losing while playing to the end pays 5 Offerings as consolation — abandoning or surrendering pays nothing. Missions pay on top of that.

Account, progress and shop

How do I earn Eternal Flames without paying?

Missions (3 daily worth 40 Flames, 3 weekly worth 100, plus monthly ones), daily login, wins, the tutorial and the full guide — the last two pay once per account.

What does the shop sell?

Eternal Flames, a season pass and cosmetics — fields, card backs, frames and a custom name. None of it is needed to play.

Can I play without creating an account?

No. The account holds your collection, your decks and your progress. You can sign in with Google, and two-factor authentication is optional.

Is my data stored?

It is, and what gets collected is described in the Privacy Policy, along with your rights. The Terms of Use and the Policy are public and can be read without an account.

Who makes the game?

It is an independent project by a single developer — code, rules, balance, writing and production. The contact is contato@duelofolclorico.com.br.
