About Duelo Folclórico
Duelo Folclórico is an independent Brazilian collectible card game, built to run in the browser and free to play. It has 481 cards drawn from Brazilian, Greek, Norse, Japanese and Egyptian folklore, each carrying the legend that produced it on the card itself.
Why folklore
Collectible card games are a genre full of invented worlds. Folklore already is one: it has pantheons, hierarchy, roadside monsters and creation deities — and in the Brazilian case, almost no game has taken it seriously. Saci, Curupira and Iara are characters a Brazilian player knows before learning a single rule, and that is a design advantage no new universe has.
What the game is today
A finished game, live: 481 illustrated cards across 5 folklores, turn-based duels against other players, ranked play with leagues and a season, a deck builder, missions, a guided tutorial, a forum, and an interface in both Portuguese and English. All in the browser, nothing to install, on phone or desktop.
Who makes it
An independent project by a single developer — code, rules, balance, writing and production. The game is free; the shop exists to pay for servers and art, and it is optional.
Is the game free?
Yes. Creating an account, building decks, duelling, climbing the ranked ladder and completing missions cost nothing. The shop sells Eternal Flames, a season pass and cosmetics, and it is optional.
